Voices Of Diabetes

Voices of Diabetes

I found out I was a diabetic in June '05. I had lost a lot of weight, which got me off the medicine. I weighed 287.5 lbs and went to 212 lbs. Then I lost my home due to Hurricane Rita, moved, and lost a lot of the support that I had in changing my way of doing things.

I lost a child March 31, 2007, and didn't know I was pregnant. I weighed a few weeks back, and I weighed 266 lbs. Then I weighed 263, so maybe I am starting on my way to eating and doing things properly.

I didn't know really what subject to put this under. Avoiding diabetes, maybe — that is, ignoring the fact that I have it. It's hard to accept even after 2 years that I have to get busy. I have to quit ignoring I have this and deal with it. Today I started exercising, so hopefully that will help as well.

I am so grateful my friend sent me this Web site. Thanks for listening.
