Voices Of Diabetes

Voices of Diabetes

I lost my son Marcus Howard on 10/19/98. He was 35 years old and had been a brittle juvenile diabetic since age 1-1/2 years.

We thought we did everything necessary to save his life. The physicians had indicated that he would not see his 20th birthday. However, he lived to be 35 years old.

The three of us (Dad, Marc, and me) followed the diabetic diet for all of those years; however, the disease won at the end.

This message is for all of you out there who have become diabetics as a young, middle-aged, or older individual. EXERCISE AND A GOOD DIET WILL HELP this horrible disease. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes on 7/25/05, and I am managing/controlling it with exercise and a good diet.

Good luck, and listen to your physician and your own heart - become acquainted with your body and your system's reaction. Start now and you will not regret it.

Thanks.
