Voices of Diabetes

My name is Tina. I'm 48 years old. I found out I had diabetes the hard way—I was bitten by a spider and when my husband rushed me to the hospital at my doctor’s request, I was told my sugar level was around 600. After 4 surgeries, time lost at work and my foot troubles (I lost 2 toes), I’m doing well. I still have trouble with ulcers on my feet and I’m looking for diabetic shoes to wear at home and to church. I have pretty good work shoes with inserts. Anybody have any suggestions? I also need a good diet. I had lost 70 pounds, but now I’ve gained it back. My A1C level was below 7, and I am getting better all the time.
