Voices of Diabetes

I lived 43 years on insulin. I was given a chance to learn something new February, 2007.

I went to a clinic and had a workup for a pancreas transplant. After 2 weeks of testing, I was told all the tests came back fine. I am on the list, but was told to lose 6 pounds before I can be active.

The funny part of my story is I go to the gym 4 days a week, weigh 197 and body mass is 28. They want me to weigh 190. I must be doing something right, I have no complications. 6 pounds to lose for me is like 50 pounds for someone else. Now, I just have to watch what I eat and exercise a few (more) days a week!
