Voices Of Diabetes

Voices of Diabetes

High blood sugar (glucose) in the mornings had been tough for me to deal with in the past. I was first diagnosed as a diabetic in 1989. My cholesterol and triglycerides were also high. In 1995, I went through ketoacidosis. I have been on insulin ever since.

I had to work mornings and nights at my job. In order to cope with this and diabetes, I checked my blood sugar more often and took the medication according to my doctor's orders. I adjusted my snacking as well.

I now feel a whole lot better and my blood sugar in the mornings and before bed is almost normal. Cutting back on carbohydrates and cutting out fried foods altogether has helped me--and so have my prayers.
