Voices of Diabetes

I was diagnosed with diabetes in my freshman year of college in 1978 — that has now been 29 years ago. I take insulin by syringe and use a pen at work throughout the day. After 29 years of diabetes in my body, you would think that my next few words would be doom and gloom. Not so!

I have trusted and relied upon God to help me and deliver me from a lot of the dreaded symptoms that come along with the disease.  I still have feeling in both my legs and feet, and my eyesight (at my last yearly exam) is 20/40, which has caused me to start wearing eye glasses to be able to read street signs better.  But, after all, I am 47 years old.

The Word of God has put me over the top! Every time a new symptom arises, I immediately apply the Word of God to it.  That's right. I take it like medicine.  The Bible says that His Word is health to all our flesh.  That has been exactly the case for me!

So, I end this by saying that "No weapon (of sickness or disease) formed against me shall prosper." -Isaiah 54:17
