Voices of Diabetes

My diabetes is finally under control, and I love to share my story with anyone at anytime. 

I work in a doctor's office, and I was the receptionist and tutor--but that wasn't enough for me. I asked to have my hours cut back, so I could help new patients and those in trouble. 

I am thrilled to tell them all about diabetes. I share with them my own ups and downs, as we all have some kind of depression, anger, sadness, love, and hope.  My first words to a new patient are: "Yes, we have diabetes, but we are all different. What works for you may not work for me. For me, starting insulin was a new beginning for me."
