Voices of Diabetes

I use a pump, and it has been a godsend.  Before the pump, I was taking multiple insulin shots a day plus multiple oral medications. I taught elementary school and would then go home to my 3 year old and 9 month old.  Needless to say, my diabetes care was the last thing on my mind. There were many nights I would get up from bed and go to the trash can to count my syringes to make sure I had taken all of them. 

At one of my checkups, my A1C was 10%. That's when my doctor set me up with a pump. It's been so nice! For me, pumps have made living with diabetes manageable.
