Voices Of Diabetes

Voices of Diabetes

I have found that trying to deal with my diabetes is the hardest thing I have ever done. I started off on the pills. Then after the loss of my insurance at work and no way to pay for doctors' visits and medicine, the diabetes got much worse. Finally, my employer got an insurance plan. By then, it was way out of control, and I ended up on insulin.

As the time goes on, the insulin (after many changes) is not doing the job it is supposed to do. My next option is the pump. My doctor said I am a prime candidate for it. But my insurance doesn't cover it.

With all the worries of having diabetes and trying just to manage everyday life, it has been such a struggle. I just wonder: are there other people out there going through the same things, and if so, how do you cope and try to maintain a positive outlook on life?
