Voices of Diabetes

I was diagnosed with diabetes four years ago. I just started taking action for it. I denied anything was wrong and I had it under control. I obviously didn't. I was washing dishes one night and thought to myself, I have a child and a husband and family who love me, what are you doing? I decided from that moment to take charge of diabetes and that it wasn't going to get the best of me for now.

I talked to my doctor and went on insulin. I had an A1C of 9.9 and now I've got it down to normal. I just have to be responsible for me. It's hard to do but I have to do it for myself, first and foremost, and for my daughter and family. I want to live as healthy life as I can for now.

I didn't want to face what was happening and I thought well it's not like I'm dying. I just have diabetes and I can get it under control.

Have a positive attitude as much as you can because it helps a lot.
