Voices of Diabetes

I was diagnosed with diabetes about 15 years ago. With drugs and diet changes, I have been able to control my blood sugar (glucose) levels.

I first went to the doctor because of pain in my feet. I was told that I have diabetic neuropathy. I find that walking for long periods of time is still painful, even though I am taking medication for the pain. So, I do not exercise as much as I should.

I still do what I can, and it does help. I do not walk every day, but I do at least 3 times a week. Every bit of exercise does help. I just wish that I could find other ways to get the exercise I know I need.
