Voices Of Diabetes

Voices of Diabetes

My story is that I fought having diabetes. And I played around with not taking anything, even after I was told that I had to take insulin. I have played around with it so long that I now have neuropathy in BOTH feet, and I know that my hands are next!

Please, please take all of your meds as prescribed! I know that is what I should have done, but I was in denial and thought that I could do what I wanted. This usually does follow in family lines and skips generations--it did for me, as well. Both of my grandparents had it, but my mother did not. It is no fun knowing that I may NOT be able to drive a car any longer when I can't feel anything in my feet. This is scary! I am almost 60 years old now, and look what I have to look forward to. I have 2 or 3 foot "ulcers" and almost lost my right foot due to one.

So, please be careful! I'll be praying for you to manage your care very carefully.
